CARA Elections

Members of the Board of Directors serve three-year terms. Members of the Executive Committee serve two-year terms, with the exception of the Vice President, who serves one year successively as Vice President, President Elect, President, and Past President (a four-year commitment). All members of CARA are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. Only members of the Board are eligible to be nominated for the Executive Committee.

CARA is accepting nominations for people to serve on the Board of Directors and for three positions on the Executive Committee:
Corresponding Secretary
-
handles all correspondence of the organization

chairs the Publicity Committee
-
produces and distributes the CARA Newsletter
Treasurer
-
maintains all finances of the organization
-
submits a monthly financial report to the Board of Directors
-
prepares an annual budget
-
submits reports and audits to the Illinois Reading Council and the International Literacy Association
-
submits required documentation to the IRS
Vice President
-
chairs the Membership Committee
-
submits a monthly membership report to the Board of Directors
-
conducts membership campaigns as initiated by the Illinois Reading Council
-
continues to become President-Elect, President, and Past President - a four-year commitment
